Following our exploration of Volubilis, we will continue our journey to Meknes, the former capital of Morocco under the reign of Moulay Ismail. Here, we will visit the impressive granaries and the grand Bab Al Mansour gate, an architectural marvel from the 11th century.
As we travel, we will pass through Ifrane, often referred to as “Little Switzerland” due to its lush landscapes and ski resorts. This charming town is also home to the Brotherhood International University, which has been offering English-language courses since its founding in 1997 by the kings of Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

- Day 6: Merzouga Desert Camp>> Khamlia Village >> Dadès Gorges.
Awaken early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, where the shifting hues and interplay of shadows create a truly magical scene. Afterward, mount your camel once more to return to Merzouga, before continuing on to Khamlia, a village home to black nomads. Here, you will pause at a nomadic family’s dwelling to share tea and gain insight into their traditional way of life.
Next, explore the heritage of the Tuareg people by visiting Alkhamliya, a village that has preserved its culture for centuries. Our journey then takes us to Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, where you will have the opportunity to visit the mausoleum of its founder, Moulay Ali Chrif. Once the capital of Tafilalet, Rissani was a significant caravan center linking northern and southern Morocco.
From Rissani, we will make our way to the striking Todgha Gorges, reminiscent of the dramatic landscapes of Colorado, characterized by towering canyons and rugged cliffs. Enjoy a hike amidst these remarkable natural formations before proceeding to the Dadès Valley. Continuing your journey along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, affectionately dubbed the “Hollywood of Africa” due to its famous film studios.
